THE BEAST Reaches 1,000 Readers!

On June 22nd 2015, I published THE BEAST-- my first book. What a ride it has been so far!

I can't say if the book has done well, bad, or average. I can say that it has exceeded my expectations. The book began with a ranking in the millions (Kindle Version) and I have watched it slowly climb the rankings. To clarify, a low number is good for sales ranking. Meaning that #1 is good and every number after that is "less good". The ranking system is like a mountain and every time THE BEAST got its toes into a new foothold, it refused to go back. I remember thinking that it would be amazing if THE BEAST somehow was ranked above 10,000. Now it's average
seller ranking ranges between 7,000 and 10,000. I couldn't be more proud!

It hasn't been all rave reviews and perfection either. I've gotten my share of bad reviews that really did a number on me. But I'm not going to talk about that here. I'm going to cover my experience with bad reviews in another post to come. In this post, I want to talk about one of the great things that has come from publishing this book.

That great thing is that, two months into its publication, my book has found its way into the hands of one thousand people. I am insanely humbled and in awe at the idea of this. I have received several photos from people reading and holding THE BEAST. I've saved each of these photos and do plan to start some kind of WALL OF READERS or something on this blog. We'll see about that later though.

Right now I just want to take this chance to thank all of those people. Those that bought, shared, and reviewed THE BEAST-- Thank you! From the bottom of my heart, I thank you. Because of each one of you, my dreams are coming true. I can't say it enough...so... thank you <3 -Lindsay Mead

The 1,000 Subscriber YouTube Milestone!!!!

I have been wanting to write a blog post for some time now. I've simply been having a problem coming up with something to talk about. I normally at least put my videos on here, but I haven't even wanted to do that. Today was no different. I sat down with the intent to write a blog post-- a simple, "Hey! I'm still here!", but there was nothing. Instead I found myself watching How-To videos on playing the violin. Do I play the violin? No lol. I don't even own one, but someday I wish too. So instead of writing you all, as I had planned, I chose to dream instead. Shouldn't come as too much of a surprise. You should know by now that I am a full-time daydreamer ;P
Anyway, back on point. Despite my distraction, something very unexpected and remarkable happened. I hit 1,000 SUBSCRIBERS!!!! Holy shit! I can't believe it! I sorta want to cry, I am so happy. I feel like music should be playing, confetti falling, and champagne bottles popping open.
I did not expect this to hit me so hard. I've known that 1,000 was around the bend for sometime. I've been creeping up on it rather slowly for the last few days. 46 minutes ago I announced that I had hit 999 and did not expect to hit the big four digits for a few days. Then, like I simply tripped, I stumbled passed 1,000 and hit 1,001. ALL while I was watching violin lessons on YouTube. If my hair was done, I'd make a video about this moment. Then again, I'd probably cry through the whole thing lol.
After writing the above text, my friend Bunny Cates congratulated me on Twitter (@Lindsay_Mead) for this achievement. This, for some reason, was my catalyst. The flood gates opened and I became a river of happy tears lol. I texted my little sister and we spread cheer back and forth that way. I would have called my mom, if I wasn't certain she was in bed. A volley of wonderful tweets and comments came my way from loads of awesome people who were all too happy to congratulate me-- and harass me for taking so long to get here lol.
I wasn't able to finish this blog post last night because Bunny pulled me into a chat with K.C. Hilton and EmmaHeartsBooks, where we talked and played some online pool. Side note: I'm decent at real pool, but god awful at simulated pool lol. It's like my friends just knew I needed to do a little celebrating, even if it was just chatting on G+. Plus, being YouTubers, they also understand what a big thing this is.
This is really one of the best ways for me to finish my year. 2012 was suppose to be my year. A lot was suppose to change for me. And a lot has, but not everything that I had expected and somethings changed in ways that were harder than I wanted. Hitting 1,000 subscribers was not something that I set out to do at the beginning of this year, but it has turned into one of the accomplishments that I am most proud of. In fact, it's not just my biggest accomplishment of this year-- it's my biggest accomplishment of the last few years now. It's a sad thing to say, and admit to people other than myself. But I can also say that this achievement has changed my outlook on my life significantly. Is there a lot that I still need to change and do in my life? Absolutely. So much that it's easy to feel overwhelmed and defeated. Then I remember that I hit 1,000 subscribers. That's something that not a lot of people can boast. Suddenly, the mountains that I have to climb don't look as high as they did two days ago. Everything seems possible to me. I think I'm going to write "1,000 SUBSCRIBERS!" on my wall to remind me of what I am capable of.
Before I end this post, I want to take a second to thank all of you for subscribing to me and for supporting me in all of my endeavors. Sometimes people ask me why I saying things like "We did it!" or "We're almost at 1,000!" They want to know why I say "we". The answer is easy, because it doesn't feel like it's just me. You're all in this with me. I couldn't gain new subscribers if you guys didn't share my videos and channel. Yes, you're my audience, but you're also my support, my friends, and my team. I couldn't do this without you guys. So thank you. Ok, now lets go for 10,000 ;P 5-digits baby!
