Last week I posted a reminder that my campaign to publish The Beauty was ending in 2 weeks (1 week now!). In that same post I talked about what my options are if I don't reach my needed goal. Somehow that resulted in confusion. So I sat down and tried to better explain it in a video. Posted below.

So, it's great to be positive, but how the heck do you do that when life really sucks. Sometimes it just seems like one bad thing after another is happening to you and it's hard to keep that smile on your face.

I went through this just recently. I increasingly found it harder to keep my thoughts on happy things when one shitty thing after another kept happening. I recognized two things during this time: 1) That allowing myself to feel bad all of the time was only going to hurt me in the long run. 2) I had to figure out how to pull myself out of the spiral downward.

So I started working at little things. Bit by bit, thought by thought, things started to come around. I only realized just days ago how much happier I am and how much better my life is. The best part is that my happiness is coming from me and not from any other outside force (Like chocolate or a new boyfriend). While outside influences that make us happy are nice and all, they generally aren't long term. And they can't be controlled. Learning how to change your thoughts and raise your mood on your own is, I think, the most important thing a person can do for themselves.

I am living proof of that, so far. Last year was one of the crappiest ever. It produced nothing of note-- except for heartache. This year seems to have done a one eighty. My books are coming along quickly. Not only does it look like I might publish two books THIS SPRING, but publishing four or five books this year seems completely doable. I'm posting videos again. My views and subscribers are going up. And I'm all around just enjoying life more. I've still got a long way to go and I have yet to tackle my health issues, but I have more hope and confidence now than ever before.

#AuthorWars is just a friendly game between writers. We compete on word counts, each one trying to get to the finish line first. We may talk smack, but really we're rooting for each other. These gals are the best, I highly recommend you check them out.
     I gotta say it was so hard to say some of this out loud, as you can see by the bloopers. I don't think I could ever participate in smack talk in real life while keeping a straight face. I guess that means that a career in acting is out of the question. Damn ;P
    Btw, the writing is coming along very well. I plan to reveal the cover for The Beast very soon. I just gotta wait for some things to arrive before I can do it. Unpurchased, which is my #AuthorWars project, is also coming along quickly. I can't wait to share it with you all. Late spring baby!

Ever oversleep and end up being really late for something important? Yeah, that's what I did. I'm also a night owl anyway, which doesn't help. What are your sleeping habits?

So I took a week off. I hadn't planned on it. It just happened. I'm back though and I've got some really great video ideas planned.

The writing is coming along so well too. Right now in the #AuthorWars: Amber is in the lead, I'm in second, and Trisha is in third (but gaining). Otherwise, Unpurchased is coming along and I edited 2 chapters in The Beast last night, bringing it up to chapter 5. I have to work the next two days, which will make it harder. Look! I redid my blog! You like? I was really unhappy with my last design. The color scheme was way too dark. But I loved that the right side panel had tabs. That meant I could have everything I wanted in my sidebar without overwhelming the blog. On a whim I searched for a new template and came across this one. It's clean and sleek, bright, AND I got to keep my sidebar tabs. It took me all day, but I went through and updated every single page on my blog. So you'll find that all of the information is now up-to-date.
